Conquer the world and bend it to your will!. This handsome package collects both the base game of Fallen Enchantress and an expansion pack and if you're a fan of 4X strategy games like Master of Orion or even Civilization, then this fantasy twist on the genre should be in your collection. It's got a mix of wonderfully realized world and deep strategy that combine to make a long-lived experience that will give you hours of entertainment. The world created here is a rich and dark one, full of ancient malevolent gods, tales of destruction and resurrection and all sorts of other things that fantasy fans love. The gameplay involves the usual aspects of 4X titles, with your goal being to explore this vast land, building up your empire and troops, while battling against the myriad monsters which lurk in the wilderness and forging complex relations with the other civilized races. You can recruit unique champions, customize your units, fight in turn-based battles and choose to be a wise ruler, or a vicious despot. It's this variety which is at the core of the game's appeal and which makes it so endlessly entertaining. Almost every aspect is designed and implemented well, and even if you've never played such a game before, this one is pretty easy to get into. The range of options and customization is impressive, while the tactical opportunities offered in battle are also interesting enough to keep you playing. There are a few minor issues with things like enemy AI, which can be a bit hit and miss, while the visuals aren't all that attractive, but apart from this, this is a fine strategy game.
