Get over here!. If Street Fighter 2 is a bit too macho for you and you fancy a bit more in the way of girl on girl fighting action, then Sailor Moon might be just what you're looking for. Based on the famous Japanese manga and anime, it's far from being as complex or rewarding as the aforementioned classic, but it remains a simple and mildly entertaining beat 'em up. The story revolves around the typically bonkers Japanese concept of a bunch of teenage girls who fight the forces of darkness, while the usual talking cat also pops up for good measure. There are a few modes to play through here, including story, tournament and two-up, but the essential gameplay remains the same, and this is basically a very traditional one-on-one fighter. You've got the usual array of characters to choose from, each with their own special moves, including physical and magical attacks, and the goal is simply to smack the living daylights out of your opponent in the time frame. That's pretty much it to be honest and it doesn't do anything that you haven't seen before in the genre. The main attraction here though is the license, and if you are a fan of the series, then you're likely to get more enjoyment out of this than someone who has no interest in it. As a fighter, it's solid enough, with a good range of characters to try out, with a decent number of moves, although the characters do feel a little samey. The visuals are certainly pretty enough, with nice colors, environments and character design, but at the end of the day, it's just a little too simple to be a must play.
In the name of the Moon!. Here one of the most famous Anime in the history of the genre. There almost isn't a kid who doesn't know about Sailor moon. Boys loved is because of the girls, and girls loved it because of the guys. That said, it is not surprising that, like Pokemon, there are a bunch of Sailor Moon games. Unfortunately, almost none were released outside of Japan. Released in 1993, this fist Sailor Moon is a simple fighting game. The graphics are really, really good for that time and it looks pretty realistic for such a simple game. The background music is also good, an upbeat tune that can easily be overheard because the player will be to engrossed into the game itself. This game is great if you are an anime fan, a Sailor moon fan, a fighting game fan and you can play it alone or with a friend. Fun guaranteed!
