The phoenix rises

The Spellforce series is a pretty epic set of fantasy games which are a bit of a mix between real-time strategy and role-playing and which make for an entertaining blend of Command & Conquer and Warcraft. This is the second add-on for the first game in the franchise, The Order of Dawn, and is probably the best of the bunch you obviously need to have some experience with the base game in order to get the most out of this. This one continues the storylines from both The Order of Dawn and The Breath of Winter and allows you to import characters from those games so if you've built up an avatar and are keen to see them develop, this is a great way to do so. The main appeal here is the two new plotlines which continue the epic saga of mages rising from the dead and who aim to conquer all with the blood of a god and of course it falls to you to stop it. There are also lots of new units to try out, as well as new buildings and creatures, spells and items and even some multiplayer maps if you can find someone to play with you. This is another example of how an expansion pack should be done. There's an excellent amount of content on offer here and which really adds to the appeal of the base game. The new campaigns are just as gripping as the original game and the new look into the world's lore is quite fascinating. The gameplay gets mixed up quite nicely with the addition of the various new elements, such as the units and spells, so overall for any fan of the original, this is a must play.
