Did someone say pizza!?. Based on a popular and award-winning comic book series, this is a charming but fairly short game that is reminiscent of point-and-click adventures like Sam & Max. While the ride lasts, this provides a good narrative and some strong puzzles but it's over all too quickly, leaving you wishing there was more. If you're familiar with the comic books, this is set between the graphic novels and tells an all-new story in the life of Dog Mendonca and Pizzaboy, a pizza delivery boy and a werewolf, who find themselves caught up in a bizarre and baffling detective story which sees them teaming up with a 60000-year-old demon in a girl's body, a loony gargoyle's head and many more strange and wonderful characters. Their adventure takes the form of a familiar point-and-click adventure where you explore a variety of colorful environments, interact with several characters and solve puzzles, mostly of the inventory-based variety. Like most other point-and-click games, this doesn't do much with the genre itself and instead relies on two things: its narrative and its puzzles. And fortunately the story here is a strong one, with an interesting case for our dynamic duo and heaps of unusual characters to meet. The puzzles too are generally well done, with no really frustrating or illogical moments (two come close though) and which are mostly quite satisfying. The visuals are lovely with some very unusual design work which is pleasing to the eye. The only real issue is the running time, as this is over in about three hours, but apart from that, this is a fine romp.
